Zoetrope Animation – MTV EMA Opener 2012

Title: Zoetrope Animation – MTV EMA 2012 Opener | Sehsucht

The zoetrope animation for MTV EMA 2012 is an ever spinning layered animation that tells the story of the American dream – the story of two underground musicians Roxxy and Seth. With the help of their fans and social media they reach stardom at the top of the carousel where they perform at the MTV EMAs.
Broadcasted live during the opening ceremony of the MTV European Music Awards 2012, the MTV EMA 2012 Opener was one of a dozen animations produced for the show.
The tool Pixology Scultris was used as 3D character design to be able to use the models instantly, rendered out by Maxwell Render for an extremely realistic look. The music relates to pop culture and futuristic sounds, produced by Nikolai von Sallwitz.
